Nandi Hills, Bangalore

June 14, 2011

We went to place called Nandi Hills. The drive was long. When we got there I saw monkeys and street dogs. Now this is all in B'lore. I saw a lot of monkeys on different cars. We started by walking around on the street just looking around.

We explored the places and bought some tea. After everybody drank tea. We went to one side of the road. One boy had a chips packet and two monkeys growled at the boy and the boy cried because he dropped the packet and one monkey got it. The monkey went up on a tree and ate it. A man came and tried to shoot it with a sling shot but missed it.

Then we went to go play on the playground while my cousin's dad was exploring more. When he came back we went to the Tipu drop. Tipu Sultan is a man that use to push criminals down a cliff. Some visitors fell down the cliff because they went to far to the edge. We got scared and so we went.

We were going and when we were going we saw a van full of monkeys. They were eating grain from the van.

Also on the way we saw something else so my cousin's dad and my mom went to see what it was. After one min I saw a fluffy tail on the back window. It was a monkey!! A monkey was on our car!!!! When my mom and uncle came back I told them what happened.

After we left we went to my mom's cousin's house. They have a dog named Leo. I carried him a lot. We ate dinner at their house and went back home and slept.

Fly in the ear

June 2, 2011

Okay this story is really and I mean REALLY weird. It really did happen to me.
It was night and I was just lying down and I couldn't sleep. Just then I was feeling something in my ear. I thought it was just dirt so I just turned my head around and thought it would just fall out by the morning. But it MOVED. I sat up and tried to shake it out and did other things. Finally I kind of i wasn't sure, understood that what was moving was wings fluttering. I know it is FREAKY. Anyways I woke up my mom and told there was something in my ear. She got a Q-tip and got a flashlight and looked in and cleaned. We got and saw noting. By now it was hurting. My mom and I didn't know what to do so she woke up my grandparents, her parents. And when they came my grandpa said to close my ear and nose and mouth. Only one nose. The ear where the thing is, should be open. Then I felt it wiggling out and my mom caught it. It was a small FLY!!!!! To tell you the truth I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it. But no isn't that a weird story. Ewwwwwwww. But I will tell you that what grandpa said was a good idea.

India

5/31/2011

I felt so proud of myself to being able to reach to India. We first showed our passports and did businesses like that. Then we went downstairs and got our checked-in luggages. We then went to a store in the airport near by. Then we went to my grandparents and drove to their house with them. I was smiling proudly as I walked toward them. At their house was my aunt with her children waiting. Her children were asleep. Everyone gathered around and talked. My aunt and her children (Niya and Nitin) were going to leave that same day. Everyone was asking me if I was sleeping. I said no even though I was a little bit sleepy.

Soon my cousins were waking up.

When they woke up I heard my aunt telling my mom that Niya was so excited to see me because she wanted me to carry her. She thought I came to India to just carry her. After playing with them we ate breakfast and played mostly the whole day.

That day we were also having a party for my grandpa because it was his birthday the day before we came. I didn't feel like having a party because I was so tired so I lie down for some time a little after the party started and fell asleep for 30 minutes. After I woke up I felt better and was in the party.

Water everywhere

Doha - May 29, 2011

We are in Doha. Yesterday was our second day here. The first day was "play", "talk", "eat" and "sleep". The second day was "eat breakfast", "play" , "talk", "eat lunch", "play", "talk", "go to the sand dunes", "order dinner" and "sleep". I thought that the 2nd day was waaaay better. At the sand dunes all we did was play in the water. We played there so much that we forgot to climb the dunes! We also played until night. We saw 4-5 camels today. I could have climbed on top of them but they were so tall. And I admit I was scared. We then ordered dinner. We brought it home and ate it. What a meal!! We talked and played for some more time and then we were soon fast asleep.

Off to India today.

Disaster

May 25, 2011
From the time I came to the airport to go to Doha I had a hunch that we wouldn't be able to go because of the high severe weather. Then an announcement came on saying that we couldn't stay by the window, so my mother and I went to the bathroom. When the announcement came on again it said to go to the bathroom. Just then a whole group of girls came into the bathroom including my friends mom. It was super cramped in the bathroom.

After the announcement came on again we went out and went to our gate. We then saw that our plane was delayed to 8:30!! So we decided that we would go the next day. We got our tickets for the next day.We also got our tickets for the plane to Doha but we had to call them to make sure it was okay. We had to wait 1 hour and a half until they picked up the phone and said it was okay. We then went to the baggage claim to get back our checked-in bags. Then we called my dad and he picked us up.

What a day!!!

Almost

I don't know what to say. Everything was almost. I was almost going to India. I was really going the next day. I was almost going to have my last time at the boring YMCA. Even though I was leaving early than anybody else I didn't want to brag. Afterall I really like school. I actually wanted to trade places with somebody else and go to India another time. But I was also happy because I had a lot of problems and I wanted to escape them. I didn't know if I was ready for this. Of course it wasn't my last time but I had A LOT of friends. I also had friends in 5th grade and I REALLY didn't want to leave them. (They were going to middle scholl.) My BFF and I never wanted to seperate but I guess we had no choice. Atleast I can text her on my I-pod. We are also planning to text when I am in India. I had NO idea how I can text her with the BIG time distance. Emailing would have been easier but she didn't have one or she kept forgeting to tell me. I never bothered to ask.
I also am going to miss my dad and of course my dog (Cody). I was always attached to those two. I don't know how I will be when I am not with Cody. It feels like a test. He was sooooo cute.
Again am I ready for this?

Living in Cahokia

It was 800 A.D. in Cahokia and I was in my mini garden and I was growing crops such as corn, squash, and beans. We were living in Cahokia for quite a while. My father told me our tributaries and the Mississippi river was perfect for growing. After I was done with my job in the garden and watering my plants, I went to our giant clock in the middle of Cahokia. We (in Cahokia) told the time by shadows. The clock was made with pillars. My father also told me when we couldn't see any shadows, it was June 21st noon. He told me it was that way because the sun was straight above.

It was nigh time right now so I went to my house. Our house was on a mound shaped like a pyramid with a flat top. When I got in our house, I went to my bed and cuddle myself together to sleep.

Why wind ?!!

I don't like wind
I just don't like wind
I saw a thick black cloud
And knew that rain was on its way.

I ran as fast as I could
But, instead
I tripped
And fell.

Then, the wind got started
And picked up my coat
Then, finally I caught it,
Put it on
And, ran ran ran to my home sweet home!!

6 things

As the rain trickled from my dark brown eyes
To the white clean pillow
And also from the light blue sky
To the soggy ground
I heard only six things
Which were....

My mom cooking rice at the black stove
My dog barking at the rain as it poured down
My dad watching the LOUD television set
My next door neighbors playing in the strong rain
Felicia and Nate's parents car driving out of the garage and disappearing into the thick rain
And of course,
The strong strong rain!

I didn't know why
But I only heard
Six things....!!
