It was 800 A.D. in Cahokia and I was in my mini garden and I was growing crops such as corn, squash, and beans. We were living in Cahokia for quite a while. My father told me our tributaries and the Mississippi river was perfect for growing. After I was done with my job in the garden and watering my plants, I went to our giant clock in the middle of Cahokia. We (in Cahokia) told the time by shadows. The clock was made with pillars. My father also told me when we couldn't see any shadows, it was June 21st noon. He told me it was that way because the sun was straight above.
It was nigh time right now so I went to my house. Our house was on a mound shaped like a pyramid with a flat top. When I got in our house, I went to my bed and cuddle myself together to sleep.

Why wind ?!!
I don't like wind
I just don't like wind
I saw a thick black cloud
And knew that rain was on its way.
I ran as fast as I could
But, instead
I tripped
And fell.
Then, the wind got started
And picked up my coat
Then, finally I caught it,
Put it on
And, ran ran ran to my home sweet home!!
I just don't like wind

I ran as fast as I could

Then, finally I caught it,
Put it on
And, ran ran ran to my home sweet home!!
6 things
As the rain trickled from my dark brown eyes
To the white clean pillow
And also from the light blue sky
To the soggy ground
I heard only six things
Which were....
My mom cooking rice at the black stove
My dog barking at the rain as it poured down
My dad watching the LOUD television set
My next door neighbors playing in the strong rain
Felicia and Nate's parents car driving out of the garage and disappearing into the thick rain
And of course,
The strong strong rain!
I didn't know why
But I only heard
Six things....!!
